Unfortunately, Dave and Mya had to head home in LasVegas so they missed California. I fell in love with California in the first 10 minutes. I googled "grocery store" and got 8 Organic Grocery Stores within a 10 minute drive!!!! And the organic food was NOT way pricier than regular food!!!!
We arrived at my aunt's home in a walled in community with a small playground and HUGE outdoor community pool. Koreatown was a short walk away and it was a great place to chill out and re-energize. My parents had flown there a week earlier and we would be driving/camping home with them.
We spent a couple of days going to different parks, biking, running errands and picking lemons from the yard. It was warm during the day and cool at night. Couldn't ask for better weather or climate. Everyone was extremely pleasant and helpful. Next time I go there, I'm going to try some of their fantastic vegetarian/vegan restaurants! Didn't have a chance this time because my aunt was such an amazing cook we ate every meal in!
We restocked at the local Korean store and had some fun at a Japanese Dollar store. Compared to the small town I'm from, this place had an AMAZING variety of goods available! The packed and the next morning we drove off into the sunrise for a little back country camping in Joshua Tree.
